Mother’s Day

I spent a wonderful afternoon with my mom at the Legion of Honor. The weather in San Francisco can be hit or miss, but as I came through the tunnel it was crystal clear and you could see all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. I still feel  same sense of excitement I did as a child going into the city and crossing the bridge…the up, up, up and down, down, down of the suspension bridge. San Francisco is truly a magical, beautiful city.

We had a great time, sans children, wondering the galleries and having a few quiet moments to talk. And while I know my mom loves her grandchildren, we don’t have the opportunity very often to be together without them and the chaos they bring. It was a treat for both of us. Don’t you love the painting at the top of the post?  Such a sweet moment captured between mother and child (and kitty, of course).

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there…hope you spent the day exactly as you wanted.
